Three homecoming modes of DJI drones

1. "Smart Return"

When we need to use the intelligent return function, we can actively trigger it, or we can start it by long pressing the intelligent return button on the remote control or clicking the return icon in the camera interface of DJI App.

Once activated, the drone will adjust its nose direction and begin its return journey. During the course of return, if you need to stop the return, you can press the intelligent return button on the remote control or click the stop icon in the camera interface of the DJI App.

Once out of smart homing, you can take back control of the drone.

2, "Smart low power return"

When the smart flight battery is too low to provide enough power for return, the drone should be landed as soon as possible. Otherwise, when the power is completely exhausted, the drone will fall directly, which may cause damage to the drone or cause other dangers.

In order to prevent the danger caused by insufficient battery power, DJI drones have the function of intelligent judgment of the current power, and determine whether the power is enough to complete the return voyage according to the flight position information.

If the current power is only enough to complete the return process, the DJI App will prompt the user whether to perform the return. In the course of return, the user can short press the intelligent return button on the remote control to cancel the return.

If the current power is only enough to land the drone, the drone will be forced to drop and cannot be canceled. During the descent, the user can control the drone by remote control (when the wireless signal is normal).

3. "Runaway return"

During the flight, the UAV can map the environment in real time and record the flight trajectory. When the GPS signal is good, the compass is working normally, and the drone has successfully recorded the return point, if the wireless signal is interrupted for more than 2 seconds, the flight control system will take over the control of the drone, and plan the route according to the original flight path, and guide the drone back to the nearest return point.

If the wireless signal is restored within 60 seconds of the start of the homecoming, the drone will hover in place for 10 seconds. At this time, the user can cancel the return by short pressing the intelligent return button of the remote control or clicking the stop icon in the drone App. If not canceled, the drone will follow the shortest distance route for a straight return. If the wireless signal is not restored within 60 seconds after the start of the return, the drone will also follow the shortest distance route for a straight return.

It is worth noting that when the distance between the UAV and the return point is more than 2km or less than 50m, it will not refer to the original flight path for return. In addition, restricted and no-fly zones will also affect the return of the original flight path.

If the UAV detects an obstacle during the course of returning from the original flight path, it will exit the path and return in a straight line.
